Nom de naissance

Miles Parks McCollum

23 Août 1997, Mableton, Georgia, United States

Georgia-born rapper Lil Yachty, born Miles McCollum, started his career in 2015 after moving to New York City. Shortly after his relocation, a comedy clip which used his song 'One Night' went viral and McCollum's reputation began to grow through social media. As well as releasing mixtapes he also pursued a modelling career working with rapper and fashion designer Kayne West.

Lil Yachty's debut album 'Teenage Emotions' was released in 2017 and contains a somewhat chaotic selection of 21 tracks, each using a different producer. Although the album reached number five on the Billboard 200, it received very mixed reviews from critics. McCollum's rap style falls outside hardcore rap conventions and presents a catchier, pop-orientated style to the record buying public using samples from sources such as Charlie Brown, Mario Bros. and even the theme from the children's television show 'Rugrats'.
